envirosearch launched in 2007 to specifically focus on the emerging environmental job market. Having initially focused on the corporate space, with its strong focus on cultural alignment as well as technical fit, our services have organically grown to encompass sustainability jobs, energy jobs and the emerging carbon market.
Feedback from our clients and candidates is consistent. They value our:
We are a privately owned, values-driven search and recruitment business inspired by the needs of our clients, candidates and our people rather than shareholder demands. We work hard to maintain our leadership position recruiting within our specialist areas of Environment, Climate Change, Energy and Carbon.
envirosearch was launched in 2007 by Managing Director Julie Honore, who saw that none of the large recruitment companies had an adequate understanding of the drivers of environment and sustainability. Although existing firms offered a basic capability to validate technical qualifications, demand was on the increase for a recruitment company that could understand the importance of how technical qualifications blend with cultural drivers within business.
Many roles within an organisation can attract the title of being a green job, and there are many definitions of a green job across industry sectors. Australian organisations increasingly recognise the importance of sustainability, be it in the form of energy efficiency, reporting, compliance, carbon readiness or as a way to differentiate a business within a competitive marketplace. Environmental professionals are no longer seen as "technical boffins" or "tree-huggers". They have earned a seat at the boardroom table, as connections are made between successful environmental and social outcomes and positive commercial returns.
While many Australian businesses are prioritising their approach to issues relating to the environment and sustainability, some organisations have made more progress in this direction than others. For this reason, we work closely with our clients – building a keen understanding of their approach to environmental and sustainability matters, and connecting them with candidates well-suited to drive initiatives at that level.
