The Opportunity
Our client is one of the largest infrastructure providers in Australia, with a reputation for building iconic structures both locally and across the globe. Their approach to sustainability is based on a holistic triple bottom line approach that embeds sustainability across the organisation, from environmental management through to IR, IT and broader business processes. Their senior leadership team has embraced the value that effective sustainability implementation can bring to the business, and are eager to continue this transformation. As a result, an opportunity is now available for a strategic and commercially-minded sustainability professional to join their Sydney operations and lead their sustainability program.
The Role
You will guide the organisation through a step change in sustainability implementation. Your role will be as diverse and challenging as any senior corporate sustainability position, as you further develop the existing sustainability culture and programs and continuously challenge and benchmark organisational performance against best practice. A key function of this role will be ensuring that processes, training and monitoring mechanisms are in place for reporting and continual improvement against both compliance-based and voluntary industry reporting standards (e.g. NGERS, EEO, DJSI, GRI).
Essential to your success, you will bring:
Demonstrated success in delivering strategic sustainability change management initiatives in a major (ASX100-equivalent) industrial organisation
Strong leadership, influencing and mentoring skills at all levels within an organisation
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to develop sustainable relationships with key stakeholders
Degree qualifications in engineering or a related technical discipline and significant experience at a senior level
Experience within construction, civil engineering or related industry highly regarded
